Berry Delicious! Acai Bowl Recipe



I've been sleep ya'll!!! I've just now jumped on the açaí bandwagon, and I'm here to tell you, I won't be getting off anytime soon lol! I was in search of some new healthy breakfast ideas and smoothie bowls came up. So I thought, might as well give it a try! And I'm so glad I did. This easy recipe is packed with antioxidants, nutrients and all the goodness of nature's candy. I don't know about you, but I can't think of a better meal to start the day with.


The recipe will generate about 16oz of smoothie, which is the perfect serving for one and maybe two, depending on the size of your appetite. Also feel free the sub the ingredients, I've used for your favorites. Let's get to it!


Ingredients


Produce/Frozen Fruit:

4oz - Unsweetened Acai Puree

1/2 Cup - Frozen blueberries

1/2 Cup - Frozen strawberries

1 medium sized banana


Milk/Liquid:

1/2 Cup of dairy free yogurt ( I use forager protein yogurt and it's made with cashew and coconut milk)

1/2 Cup of water or milk


Pantry/Toppings:

1/2 T - Honey (optional)

1/4 Cup - Granola

3 T - Nuts

3 T - Coconut Flakes


Instructions:


Step 1 - In a blender, add the açaí puree, banana & water. Blend until well incorporated


Step 2 - Add in the frozen blueberries, strawberries, yogurt & honey. If you notice the mix needs a bit more liquid, add it slowly until it reaches your desired thickness. But be careful because the consistency should be a lot thicker than a smoothie made for drinking. When you're making your mixture, think ice cream... not soup lol


Step 3 - pour the smoothie contents into a bowl and top with your favorite toppings. Enjoy all this superfood goodness ;)
